According to Polish Meczyki, the Dane will take over as the new head coach of the Polish big club Lech Poznan from July 1 this year. He is thus expected to become the first Dane to lead an Ekstraklasa club next season.

Since before, several Swedes play in Poznan – Filip Dagerstål, Elias Andersson, Jesper Karlström and Mikael Ishak. Poznan is currently in third place in the Polish league.

Earlier this year, the Danish site bold.dk stated that Frederiksen held talks with the Swedish Football Association about becoming the new captain for the Swedish A national team, but in the end it was Jon Dahl Tomasson who got the job.
