Olympiakos ready for ECL final in Greece

Aston Villa had no chance.
Olympiakos is ready for the Conference League final.

Emiliano Martinez was back from injury. Then Robin Olsen had to kindly sit on the bench again when Aston Villa visited Olympiakos in the second leg of the Conference League semi-final between the teams.

From there, the Swedish national team goalkeeper saw the Greeks take the lead as early as the tenth minute through Ayoub El Kaabi, who headed in 1-0 (5-2 on aggregate) from close range. At that point, the deficit was too great to catch up for the gang from Birmingham.

Olympiakos eventually won the return leg 2-0, after El Kaabi scored his second goal of the night in the second half, securing a final ticket. A historical one.

It will be the first time ever that the Greek giant plays in a European final.

Olympakios also has a chance to become Conference League champions on home soil. The final will be played at the OPAP Arena in Athens on May 29. Fiorentina will be the opposition.

Starting XI:

Olympiakos: Tzolakis – Rodinei, Retsos, David Carma, Quini – Hezze, Iborra, Chiquinho – Podence, El Kaabi, Fortounis.

Aston Villa: Martinez – Cash, Konsa, Diego Carlos, Pau Torres, Digne – Diaby, McGinn, Douglas Luiz, Bailey – Watkins.
