Mason Greenwood, 22, joined Getafe on loan from Manchester United ahead of this season, and so far has ten goals and six assists in 32 games. This summer the loan expires, and after that he has a contract with the English big club until the summer of 2025.
In recent weeks, reports have been published that Getafe want to keep Greenwood, just as there is interest from clubs such as Atlético Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus. Furthermore, United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has stated that the club needs to make a new decision about Greenwood’s future, as the player has previously been suspended internally – following allegations of attempted rape and assault which have been dropped for some time.
Now the English newspaper The Telegraph states that at least two Premier League clubs have heard about Greenwood. At the same time, it is stated that a future for the forward outside the British Isles is most likely. United are said to value the player at 40-45 million pounds, corresponding to 469-528 million kroner.
Over the years, Greenwood has scored 35 goals and twelve assists in 129 games in the United shirt. He has also played an A international match with England.
