Barcelona had won four straight league titles. Now that streak has been extended to include five in a row and it was Fridolina Rolfö who played the main role in achieving the feat.
In Saturday’s match against Granada, she opened the scoring after just two minutes of play. The Catalan giants then added in the eleventh minute through Lucy Bronze, to whom Rolfö assisted, and before the first act was finished Caroline Graham Hansen had made it 3-0.
Granada reduced before the break, but to little avail.
Because with a quarter to go, Fridolina Rolfö netted again and Barcelona managed to maintain that lead. The match ended 4-1.
The league title is Barcelona’s ninth overall.
Barcelona still have four league games left to play this season. Down to second place Real Madrid, who have a game less played, are separated by 15 points. In the Primera División Femenina, head-to-head meetings take precedence over goal difference.
In addition to the league title, Barcelona is in the cup final and the Champions League final.
