Xavi Simons made a name for himself as a youth player at Barcelona. But the Dutchman never got to make his debut for the club’s representative team and left to play in PSG’s organization in 2019.
Simons hasn’t made a big impression in the French capital either, but during his spells at PSV and RB Leipzig, he has produced an impressive scoring output, which has also made other clubs eye him.
Now the Spanish Mundo Deportivo writes that Simons is eligible for another loan from PSG and that he has a clause in his contract that allows him to choose which club he wants to be loaned to.
Furthermore, the information states that the club that Simons wants to join is precisely Barcelona. Given the clause in the contract, there is also nothing PSG can do about it given the frosty relationship between the clubs.
In the summer of 2022, Simons left PSG for PSV on a free transfer. A year later, however, the club bought him back after exercising an option in the contract. It now remains to be seen whether he will be loaned out once more.
