This article provides details in Ines Rau’s life, relationship, lifestyle, and career.
Early Life
Ines Rau was born in Paris, France, in 1990. She is of French-North African descent. At 16, she underwent gender-affirming surgery after being motivated by the life story of Caroline “Tula” Cossey, an English trans model.
Career
At 18, Ines Rau started dancing for disc jockeys in Ibiza, which allowed her to know several people and make friends, including David Guetta.
After turning 23 in 2013, she posed nude for the first time with Tyson Beckford for a spread in OOB, a French luxury magazine. This happened shortly after appearing as a transgender.
In May 2014, Rau made her first appearance in Playboy’s “A-Z issue” in a spread titled “Evolution,” which was aimed at showing the growing acceptance of gender identities beyond the male-female binary.
Consequently, she became the 2nd transgender woman to appear in Playboy after Cossey in 1981. At the same time, Rau was the first to appear voluntarily.
After making several magazine appearances, Rau modeled for Alexis Bittar, Barneys New York, and Nicole Miller. She also worked for Vogue Italia and appeared in a campaign for Balmain.
In 2016, she appeared on TF1’s news program Sept a Huit in an episode that was centered on the life of a transgender model.
In October 2017, Cooper Hefner, the son of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, announced that Ines Rau would become the “Playmate of the Month” in the magazine’s November/December 2017 edition. This announcement made Ray to become the first openly transgender women to be featured in this manner unlike Cossey (and reappeared in the magazine in 1991) who was outed against her will.
Cooper Hefner likened the choice to feature Ines Rau to his father’s (Hugh Hefner) decision to make Jennifer Jackson the first African-American model to appear in Playboy as a Playmate in 1965.
Rai has been more vocal about transgender rights. After making her transgender status public, the model has been an active advocate for transgender rights.
Personal Life
Throughout 2021, Ines Rau’s affair and interactions with Kylian Mbappe were the subject among media outlets and fans.
Despite being spotted together, neither party confirmed their romantic relationship. Their rumored involvement came to an end as they unfollowed each other on Instagram, suggested a breakup.
Ines Rau, who has over 1.4 million followers on Instagram, shared a picture of herself kissing a strange man months after her alleged breakup with Mbappe.
Despite the buzz around her, Rau has kept details of her new relationship private.
